M.A. Kirkeby was raised on a cattle ranch in eastern Nevada, where hard land, long days, and old stories shaped his imagination.

His fiction draws from Norse myth, the American West, strange frontiers, family, honor, humor, and the unseen forces that shape ordinary lives.
